Obituary for Aleida VanDerSteen
VanDerSteen, Aleida – Peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Woodstock on Sunday, February 7, 2021, Aleida Maria Francisca “Miep” VanDerSteen (nee VanBuggenum) one day shy of her 98th birthday.
Reunited with her beloved husband Martin who predeceased her on February 22, 2007. Loving mother of Ted VanDerSteen, Mary Pearson and Fred VanDerSteen, all of Woodstock, John VanDerSteen of London and Anita Parker (Brian) of Wasaga Beach. Dear grandmother of Michelle Pearson, Jeff Pearson (Anna), Jaclyn Burwell (Jeremy), Joe VanDerSteen (Amanda) and Kaitlyn Parker (Jared), and great grandmother of Brandon, Megan, Nathan, Lillian, Logan and Ella. Sister to 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Also remembered by her family in The Netherlands.
Aleida was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and a past member of the CWL.
The family will welcome visitors at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington St. N, Woodstock on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. (Please book your time on the funeral home website. You MUST remain in your vehicles until your scheduled time of visiting). Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Parish at a later date.
