Shirley Hopkins (nee Whitehead)
Passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the age of 78 at the Woodstock Hospital. Predeceased by her life partner Donald Fraser (Nov. 2020). Loving mother to Sherry Hopkins and Brenda Bishop (Randy). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Rick Hopkins (Jess), Sarah Thompson (Jeremy), Tom Thompson (Brittney), Michelle Postma (Drew), Jessi Postma (Brendan) as well as her great grandchildren Chelsea, Kylie, Valentina, Nathan, David, Vienna, Ethen, Kinsley and Dallas. Survived by brother Robert Whitehead (Helen). Shirley is predeceased by son Dave Hopkins, great granddaughter Brookelyn Hopkins, brother Wilfred Whitehead and sister Donna Moore. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends in the Oshawa and Woodstock areas.
Sadly, Shirley didn’t make it to see her soon to be great granddaughter Amelia born, something she was very much looking forward to.
A special thank you to all of the nurses, doctors and staff who took care of her in her times of need.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Shirley’s life at the Hillview Cemetery in Woodstock, Ontario on Saturday, April 30th at 1:00pm for a graveside service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to VON Sakura House would be greatly appreciated.
