Obituary for Eileen Slaughter
SLAUGHTER, Eileen – Passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Woodstock, on Sunday, April 11, 2021, Eileen Elizabeth Slaughter (nee Gotham) at the age of 85.
She is reunited with her beloved husband Dennis who predeceased her on May 21, 2003. Devoted Mum of Rebecca and her husband Andrew Pritchard of Niagara Falls, ON. She will be fondly remembered by her brother David Gotham and nephew Dave Gotham of Woodstock. Predeceased by her parents Frederick and Isabella (nee Wild) Gotham and her sister-in-law Pattie Gotham.
Eileen spent her life serving others first as a maternity nurse and as a teacher at her own nursery school in Liverpool then at the Woodstock Co-op Preschool in Canada. Her faith lead her to many roles of responsibility in the Anglican Church from Sunday School Superintendent to People’s Warden.
Cremation has taken place and Eileen’s ashes will be interred in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Paris at a later date. In keeping with Eileen’s love of helping others the family requests that any memorial donations be made to your local food bank, humane society or church .
