Obituary for Leona Sweeney
SWEENEY, Leona – Passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Belleville General Hospital, Marjorie Leona Sweeney (nee Bunnett) of Belleville, formerly of Woodstock at the wonderful age of 95.
Beloved wife of the late Daniel Sweeney (1998). Loving mother of Wendy Carter (Mike) of Brockville. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Daniel Carter (Sonya) and Kylie Carter (Adam) and great grandchildren Isla, Lochlan and Elowen. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Linda Bunnett. Also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by her parents William and Mabel (nee Snell) Bunnett as well as her brothers Ronald Bunnett (late Bernice) and Wayne Bunnett.
At Leona’s request, all arrangements are private. She will be reunited with her husband Daniel at Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
