Obituary for Joan La Salle

Joan Ruth La Salle (nee Burr) - Passed away unexpectedly at the age of 92 on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at University Hospital, London.

She will be sadly missed by her loving daughter, Margaret of London. Predeceased by her husband, Gordon (2008) and infant twin daughters, Barbara and Brenda (1963).

Joan was born in Brantford and attended Brantford Collegiate Institute. She and her husband moved to Woodstock in 1956. Joan was actively involved with the Girl Guides of Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation and Multiple Sclerosis Society while in Woodstock. Many may remember her as Brown Owl of Pack 13 at Bethany Lutheran church. Joan was an avid rug hooker and enjoyed being a member of the Oxwood Hooking Artisans. She created many beautiful pictures and rugs over the years, some of which were publicly displayed. Joan moved to London in 2013 to live closer to her daughter, Margaret. The last three years of her life were spent at McCormick Home.
Joan will be laid to rest with her husband at Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodstock.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington St. North, Woodstock, ON (519-537-3611)
