Constance Louise Clark
November 25, 1925 – October 24, 2022
After a full and happy 97 years on earth, Constance passed away peacefully at Woodingford Lodge with her family by her side. Born in Stratford, Ontario, she was the eldest child of Henry and Connie Clark and loving sister to Ernest (Joan). She was dearly loved by her nieces, Laurie Karasmanis (Tony) and Pam Loree (Stan), her nephew Stephen Clark (predeceased), her 5 Great nieces and nephews Nicholas, Alex (Jordan), Adrian (Sara), Sarah, Stephen (Stephanie) and her Great-great niece Arya.
In 1985, Constance retired from her job of 45 years in the business office at Woodstock General Hospital. Along with working, Constance enjoyed volunteering and continued to volunteer for most of her retirement years including many roles at The Church of the Epiphany (formerly New St. Paul's Anglican Church), Operation Sharing and Secretary for The Woodstock Rotary Music Festival.
In 2002, Constance won the Queens Jubilee Award, which was awarded to Canadians who made outstanding and exemplary contributions to their communities or to Canada as a whole.
Constance grew up in a musical family and loved to sing. She participated in choirs all her life including 45 years with The Woodstock Choralaires and various church choirs.
She enjoyed traveling, and her travels included trips across the world. Some of the highlights of her travels were many trips to Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. Traveling around the world with the Canadian Baptist Federation which ended with a conference in Japan. She also went on many tours with The Woodstock Choralaires where she was able to sing in magnificent cathedrals across Europe.
Constance was a friend to all. She was always out and about with some sort of function and when she was home, she was either entertaining, crafting or baking for someone. She always remembered special events and sent cards to everyone she knew. As children, her nieces always knew there would be a card for their birthdays, Valentine’s Day, St Patrick’s day, Halloween etc. She was an avid crafter and gardener, and enjoyed watching sports including hockey, baseball, and basketball games.
Everyone who knew Constance loved her, and she will be missed for her smiles, laughter, hugs, and chats.
Visitation is at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington Street North in Woodstock on Friday October 28, 2022, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at The Church of the Epiphany, 560 Dundas St, Woodstock followed by a reception. Interment is scheduled for 2pm at the Anglican Cemetery, 396 Vansittart Avenue (following the reception). For those who wish, donations may be made to The Church of the Epiphany or any other charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made through.
