Obituary for George Raymond

RAYMOND, George Allen - With very sad hearts we announce the sudden passing to the realms of heaven, of our beloved George in his 70th year.

Predeceased by his parents Joe and Josie Raymond of Timmins and sister Jojo.
Survived by his life-long partner Randy Hicks and sisters Sharon (Gerry), Donna (Tony) and Angie (John). He also leaves behind his nieces Amanda (Brandon), Kelly (Patrick) and nephews Mitchell, Nick and Ethan. George is also a proud great uncle to Jaden, Lucas and Emma. He also leaves behind his most special cousin Louis (Wanda), aunt Helene Savage and any future X’s and Y’s.

George will be remembered by a large circle of family and friends in Southern and Northern Ontario as well as Newfoundland, or “The Rock” as he affectionately liked to call it.
Working as a Registered Nurse for 45 years, George held various clinical and managerial positions. His most cherished role as a nurse came with the many times his sisters and nieces would call for advice. He was always ready and happy to help.
Family was everything to him. He became the Dad to his sisters and uncle extraordinaire to his nieces and nephews and in later years their children. George loved gardening and card games and somehow won whether in Newfoundland or Ontario. He enjoyed many sunny days at his happy place having picnics in Niagara on the Lake by the river.
There are no words to express how much he meant to all of us. George created many special memories that his nieces and nephews will treasure forever and pass on to their children.

A private family gathering was held with plans to celebrate his life at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Woodstock Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington St. North, Woodstock (519-537-3611)
