Obituary for George White
WHITE: George Robert - passed away suddenly as a result of a heart attack at the Woodstock Hospital on Thursday October 22, 2020. George White of Woodstock in his 70th year.
Love of his life and soul mate to Dee whom he married November 10, 1984. Son-in-law of Honey Butler of Woodstock. Godfather to Dianna Vervaecke and Aaron Magoffin of Woodstock. George will be remembered by his wonderful cousins the Little, Carey and White Families and many other extended families. George was a dear friend to many.
Predeceased by his parents Gilbert & Helen (Carey) White.
George was a huge supporter and co-owner of Dee-Lights Bakery in Woodstock for the past 35 years. He was a 41 year employee of Firestone. He was a big Montreal "HABS" and Boston Red Sox fan. George was a member of both Holy Trinity and Sacred Heart Churches, a life member of the Kinsmen Club and Legion Branch 55, Woodstock. George also had a love for research on history, especially war time history.
Family and friends will be received at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington St. N. Woodstock on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 11:00am until 12:15pm followed by a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1420 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock at 1:00pm. Father Gilbert Simard celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. (face mask and social distancing required)
Vigil prayers at Sacred Heart Church Ingersoll on Sunday evening, October 25th at 7:00pm.
