Obituary for Trudy WOLANSKI
Wolanski, Gertrude Alsie “Trudy” – Passed away peacefully at Woodstock Hospital on February 17, 2023 at the age of 91.
Gertrude was born November 29, 1931 to Walter and Mary (nee Strembicki) Genoway, on the family farm of Rama, Saskatchewan. Trudy was one of six children; Lorna, Bernard, Jean, Helen, Trudy, and Elmer.
Left to cherish Trudy’s memory is her sister Helen Kaliciak, her Dear husband of over 30 years, Walter Wolanski, step children Paul (Andrea) Wolanski and Helen Wolanski, grandchildren, Philip, Andrew, Adam, and nieces and nephews, David (Virginia) Genoway, Henry (Marlene) Genoway, Patrick (Erin) Genoway, Ray (Valerie) Tkachuk, Dean (Joan) Bianco, Greg (Sheryl) Josefchuk, Don Josefchuk. Fondly remembered by several great nieces and nephews.
Gertrude was predeceased by her parents Walter & Mary and her siblings, Lorna (Joe) Josefchuk, Bernard Genoway and Elmer Genoway, and brother-in-law Ed Kaliciak.
Visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1420 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock, ON, on Saturday February 25, 2023 between 11 am – 12:45 pm. A funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm with Fr. Daruisz Jagodzinski officiating. Cremation to follow. Guests are invited to a reception in the Parish Life Centre following Mass.
