Obituary for Jack BRIGHT

With heavy hearts we are saddened to announce our beloved husband and father Jackson (Jack) Bright, passed away suddenly of heart failure on December 25th, 2023, at the young age of 69.

Jack grew up in Oakville but lived a fulfilled life in Woodstock for the past 32 years. He is the son of the late William (Bill) and Inga Bright and Son In-Law of Roy and Late Devona Bergerson (Thompson).

Jack will be lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife of 39 years, Lori Bright (Bergerson) and his two daughters he adored, Amanda (Marty) and Jaclyn (Josh). Jack will also be forever missed by his brothers Harry and Bill (Jaqui), late brother Doug (Susan), as well as his sisters-in-law Cheryl Mills, Jill Moody (Mike), Tracey Nowlan, and Dina Bergerson. With a host of loving nieces and nephews he will always be remembered for teaching them how to blow the perfect bubble and his famous elephant call.

Jack truly lived a life of many simple pleasures. He enjoyed golfing with his friends, was a master at puzzles of all kinds, an avid jazz fan and he kept Tim Hortons in business. Jack had an uncanny gift to reach people in a deep and positive way. He was a good storyteller and was always cracking jokes. Jack especially enjoyed his family time and enjoyed being a great uncle to his great nieces and nephews, where he found a lot of joy in playing and entertaining them.
Jack was a salesman for many years. For the past 11 years he enjoyed working for the company, Pencom. He always remained a salesman at heart.

The family would like to thank the Woodstock Police, Fire, EMS, and Emergency department. A special heartfelt gratitude to Marty and our neighbor Ernesto for all they did until emergency crews arrived. An extended thank you to all our friends, family and neighbours who have been a tremendous support system.

For those who wish, memorial donations in Jack’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, ALS Society of Canada or to a charity close to your heart. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
