Obituary for Jim NORTHCOTT

Northcott – James “Jim” - Passed away peacefully at London Victoria Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020 in his 74th year.

Jim is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia (Broomfield) Northcott, and loving children Carol Ann and Steven (Hannah). Family was the most important thing in Jim’s life. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren who knew him for his laugh and yummy breakfasts: Victoria and Lilah Villanueva and Catalina and Ariella Northcott. Dear father-in-law of Hannah (Bernadino) Northcott. Beloved brother of Mary McCarthy (Mike), Joseph (Joan) and David (Carol Anne). Predeceased by his parents and siblings: Matthew and Sadie (Noseworthy) Northcott, Andrew (Sadie), Beth Ash (Danny), Kevin (Doreen), Loretta Payne (Murray), Bernadette McCormack (Brian). He was a dear brother to Pat’s siblings: Margaret Fahey (George), Shirley Deering (Dave), and Jimmy (Carol Anne). His extended family was wide with many nieces, nephews, and siblings-in-law. He cared for each person deeply.

Jim was a man of integrity and service. This infused all he did in his 43-year career as a local businessman. His 8 years as a City of Woodstock Councilor was particularly important to him as it melded with his deep sense of service. He volunteered continuously throughout his life (with the Rotary Club and Knights of Columbus among others), right up until his passing (driving for the Victoria Order of Nurses (VON)). Jim’s service to so many will be deeply missed due to the many roles he served in his community.

Jim lived his life fully every day guided by his deep faith and values. He inspired all he met; and he will be missed by all who knew him.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Victoria Order of Nurses Oxford.
