DIKKEN, Josephine - Peacefully with her husband John and daughter Kim by her side, Josephine Dikken (nee Kipping) in her 78th year, passed away on Friday November 15, 2019 at Victoria Hospital in London.
Josephine joins in eternal heaven with those that passed before her. Her parents
John and Bridget Kipping, in-laws, Peter and Welmoed Dikken, brothers and sisters, Joseph, Patrick, Thomas, Johnny, Jean, Beatrice, Ethel, Rita, and May, as well as two sister in-laws Alice and Corrie.
The last two decades with the onset of dementia and other health issues, Josephine was cared for at home by her husband of 58 years, John in London. Ontario. Prior to that they spent the majority of their lives together in Woodstock. John and Josephine had a very full life of working hard and enjoying their home and boat.
Their boat the “Martini II” was a great joy in their life. Spending time on the water and anchored at Pottahawk, socializing with friends was a wonderful past time. After retiring they spent time in Penetanguishene, boating from there and travelling to many great Ontario places.
Josephine put out as much effort into working to make her personal life abundant, as she did into her career as a book keeper and office manager for over 30 years. Starting her career at the Dutch Laundry in London where she met and fell in love with John.
“Aunt Joe” to many and “Josie” to close friends and relatives, was always there with an easy smile and laugh. Her home was always open for a meal, a drink, or a sleepover. Making everyone feel like part of the family. The level of care and attention was apparent in the food she served, the décor and sewing in her home and boat. There was always music playing and a little dancing going on in the house.
Survived by her oldest sister Mary Cooper (nee Kipping) of Peterborough, a close niece Dorcas Vine (nee Kipping) of Salmon Arm B.C and nephew Billy Kipping of St. Thomas. Her two godchildren Krista Graat of Enderby, B.C and Brandon Graat of London, Ontario.
