Obituary for Judith Wilson

WILSON, Judith Anne

On Wednesday, December 30, 2020 Judy passed away at Woodstock General Hospital, Ontario after a long battle with congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and renal failure.

She wanted to remain home as long as possible and was only in the hospital for her last 14 hours. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Debbie (Dave) Russell and her grandchildren Jennifer Russell (Stephen King), Scott Russell and Amanda Fleming (Jess). Judy also leaves behind her great grandchildren Kate Russell, Rowan King, Liam Fleming and Zoey Fleming.

Kate took this picture the day we celebrated Judy's 80th birthday. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her so much joy. She looked after her grandchildren when they were younger, taking them on picnics, teaching them how to swim, how to garden and how to bake. She would eat anything they prepared for her! She always had homemade cookies and candies in her house and spoiled them with treats when they went shopping.

More recently, she loved to play balloons with Kate and Rowan and listen to stories they would tell her. Judy will also be sadly missed by all her fur babies who faithfully sat by her side and protected her over the past few months as her health declined. All of Judy's pets have been rescues. She was always more than willing to provide a loving home for any animal in need.

She had a knack for fixing anything that was broken, a skill she learned from her father. She could refinish worn furniture, rewire lamps and fix music boxes and clocks. She saw a use for everything regardless of how torn or broken it was. There wasn't anything she wouldn't try to restore. She loved the outdoors and her flowers. Her gardens were always so beautiful. She crocheted, baked, loved to read her Scriptures and do crossword puzzles. She liked to watch boxing, baseball, soccer and the food network. She collected many things, but angels were her treasures. Now she is one.

The family would like to express deep gratitude, thanks and appreciation for the personal time and attention that Dr Jeff Nichols gave her over the years. Judy had many unpleasant hospitalizations as a child and disliked doctors, but Dr Nichols always made her feel at ease.

A private family ceremony and interment will take place but we encourage you to leave a condolence to the family and a donation in Judy's memory to the Oxford County Animal Rescue, 789 Dundas Street, Woodstock, ON N4S 1E2. Arrangement entrusted to the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home,69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock ON.
