Obituary for Maria Helena TAVARES
TAVARES, Maria Helena- Passed away peacefully at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the age of 96.
Reunited with her beloved husband Manuel Vitorino Tavares, who predeceased her May 17, 1977. Loving mother of Armandina DaCosta (Tiberio), Helena Pacheco (late Jose), and Rita Catunto (Tony). Sadly missed by her grandchildren Jack (Jen), Mike (Angie), Helen (Brent) and Mark (Tara); Francisco Jose, Marcia, Helder (Ildiko) and Pamela (James); Kathleen and Dylan; great grandchildren Mikayla (Matthew), Dawson, Owen, Cassius, Julius and Avery; Aaron, Ethan, Lisandro and Devon. Survived by her sisters Ines and Cremilde as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Mariano Duarte and Ines deMelo, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family would like to thank all the staff that gave Maria such loving care and support during her time at Woodingford Lodge.
The family will welcome visitors at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington St. N, Woodstock on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 5 – 9pm. A funeral mass will be said at Holy Trinity Parish, 1420 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 11 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
