Obituary for Mary Longtin
LONGTIN, Mary – Passed away at PeopleCare, Tavistock on Sunday, January 3, 2021.
Beloved wife of the late Gerry Longtin who predeceased her on December 14, 2000. Loving mother of the late Carole Earle (late Tom), Jacques Longtin (Binh), Lise Dolson (Dennis) and the late Gilles Longtin. Dear grandmother of Sara Duggan (Rory), and Ashley Dolson and step grandmother of Thanh La (Chi) and their children Lydia and Alicia. She will be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Adelard and Mary Anne (nee Lobb) Gauthier as well as her 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
Mary was a very compassionate person and loved spending her time volunteering for several organizations. She loved collecting donations for the Salvation Army Kettle Bell Program as well as the Daffodil Program for the Cancer Society. Her and Gerry were volunteers for VON Oxford delivering meals to people with the Meals on Wheels program. Mary was a very involved CWL member with St. Rita’s Catholic Church and then Holy Trinity Parish.
A private family visitation will be held at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington St. North, Woodstock, On (519-537-3611). A private funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Parish with Fr. Dariusz Jagodzinski. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, VON Oxford or the Alzheimer’s Society of Oxford. Personal condolences may be sent at www.smithleroy.com
