BARNETT, Robert Thomas Archibald (1923 – 2021) – Passed away at the Woodstock Hospital on Friday, February 19, 2021.
Reunited with his beloved wife Evelyn Barnett (nee Miller) who predeceased him in 2012. Dear father of Leslie Woof (James), Janet Lillie (late James), Joan Barnett, Bruce Barnett (Sheila), Brenda Hevenor (Paul) and Gordon Barnett (Cathy). Loving grandfather of more than 40 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Survived by his sister-in-law Jeanne Barnett. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Sarah (nee Allison) Barnett, his siblings Mary Kennedy (Bill), Helen Cooke (Mike), and Wallace Barnett.
Robert was a World War II veteran where he served in the RCAF for 26 years as a navigator. He flew with the Ferry Command, 436, 437, 187, 426 squadrons. After retirement he worked as a navigator for Ward Air, then moved on to build several houses in the Woodstock area. He then worked in the maintenance department of the School Board. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 55, Woodstock. He loved his gardens and spending his winters in Florida.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service is being planned for July 2021. If desired, memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 55 would be appreciated.
