Dear Marie
I cared for your mom for several years on the 2100 unit. She was by far one of my most favourite people I have ever cared for and I will never forget her. Her beautiful smile would always brighten up my toughest shifts. Even though it was sometimes hard to communicate with her when she spoke Portuguese you could tell how much of a loving person she was. We use to always say she must of doted on her family. I adored her. She always called me “sweetheart” in Portuguese. I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing. I offer my sincere condolences during this very difficult loss.

I’m very sorry to hear of Maria’s death. Joe and Maria were very loyal and hard working people. Joe worked for my father, Ken Marshall, for many years and Maria helped my mother Joan and myself in our homes. I have very fond memories of your parents and admire the courage and determination they had to start a new life in Canada.

Thank you so much “Mrs. Donna”. After all of these years my mom and dad were so very grateful for the opportunity that your parents gave them. They always spoke so highly of your mom and dad. The past few years my mother still recalled the time spent in your home. Thank you for always making them feel welcome ❤️ xo Maria
